Every dish is top notch. Def recommend the roti. Might be on the oily side but delicious with the curry

Tamarine is fine dining with a warmth and accepting air that can only be given by staff that truly cares. Thanks to family style serving I was able to try at least a little of every dish my group ordered. Every piece of fish impeccably cooked, and seasoned just enough to bring out their wonderful flavor. My salmon also came with a cucumber salsa which I will have to attempt to recreate on my own, it's just too good to never have again.

One of the best restaurants on the university ave. Definitely deserves Michelin’s star. Both lunch and dinner are good here. Prices are quite low for such a high quality of the food and service.

Pricey for a Vietnamese place. Service is good; however, the food is mediocre. The laksa is bland. Their cod is salty.

Incredible food (the Tamarine prawns are hands down the best prawns I have ever eaten!) and really friendly service. Beautiful atmosphere and great location.

An excellent restaurant. Garlic noodles are phenomenal and I can highly recommend the persimmon salad. All dessert options are unbelievably good with excellent drink pairings for a night cap. Reserve early though, from what I understand it's a very popular location!

Went for the year end office lunch. Had family style food consisting of spring rolls, fried tofu, shrimp, and ice cream + cake dessert among others. Good service. Good food.

I really wanted to like this place but was left disappointed. I reserved this restaurant for my husband’s milestone birthday. The service was great and we were seated promptly. The dishes look great, but tasted average for the amount you pay. Especially my husband’s ginger chicken, that didn’t look appetizing or tasted good. He left it as is after a few bites. Such much for birthday dinner after spending hundreds of dollars.

The interior is upscale and along the wall is Asian inspired art. Reservations are encouraged. The food was very average. There was no twist and no use of interesting and authentic spices in the dishes I tried. It felt very Americanized.

I've been here several times before, this was my best experience. Everything was excellent - the shaking beef and empress rice, the guava cocktail, and most of all, the Vietnamese coffee! Highly recommend Tamarine, both for the ambience and food.

Very sophisticated place, highly recommend to dress up at least casual. Talking about the food, the sea bass is to die for. I love how well they have seasoned the fish inside and outside. Next favorite is the banana beignets 😋. The prawn was a little tangy for me. Empress rice was okay and not bad.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. The food is delicious, the service is usually perfect, the ambiance is calm and not too noisy, and I always enjoy being there. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you love Asian flavors.

If you are looking for a place with a great atmosphere, friendly and fast service, great food, and a place where you can really talk (don't yell or hurry because you feel that the staff is pressing you to leave) while you enjoy your food and drink, you have to come here!I was there on lunchtime. I shared the "Banh Mi Roti" which was on point! I had "Buddha's Delight" and my friend had "Clay Pot Cod", we also shared the "Coconut Rice". To be honest, it was so good that we didn't have leftovers.Definitely a "must place" to eat in Palo Alto.

Upscale Vietnamese place; nice options for vegetarians and vegans across starter and main course, tasty desert. For team events, customized/fixed/printed menu offered. Efficient wait staff, good quality cutlery, hygienic. Parking available at back of the restaurant. Have been impressed on each of the visits.

Great restaurant in Palo Alto. The food is excellent, it is not traditional Vietnamese though but more fusion type. It's a great place for sharing, so I recommend to go there as a group so that you can try several dishes.

Really nice Vietnamese restaurant. Before I dined here, I didn’t do any research. I thought this is like a $10 Pho place which is what I wanted that day. Turns out to be a quite high end Vietnamese restaurant with nice twist to its cuisine. I enjoyed most of the dishes I ordered. Highly recommend to others and I will come back.

Very nice restaurant that has been a staple in downtown Palo Alto for a long time. Dishes are full of flavor and priced fairly. Everything tastes fresh and pretty healthy actually. Staff is friendly and attentive.

Really good ambience. Service is good too. Seating is comfortable and cozy but very close tables. Food is superb, the entrees we ordered were delicious. Didn’t like the appetiser that much.

Its an extremely popular place in Palo Alto. I strongly suggest to make a reservation as we went pretty late on a weekday without reservation and were seated on the high tables. Food was great, although pricy. Only bad thing is that the place smelled of fish sauce.

Tamarine is a great restaurant with modern Vietnamese cuisine. You can find high quality appetizers, main courses, and sides with some unique twists. Drinks are also quite good and versatile. Service was highly professional. Prior reservation is highly recommended. Last but not least make sure you try beef wrapped in tea leaf!

fantastic restaurant. one of the top places in Palo Alto and Bay Area in general. Food is to die for, carefully crafted and cooked to perfection. Lamb chops will melt in your mouth before even trying to chew. Will definitely come back for more.

Good food, a little expensive but a classy experience. Loved the halibut dish a lot and loved the way they presented the brown rice in banana leaf. Also my son loved the lava cake.

This was my first time eating Vietnamese food. It was really good. I did pass on the brussel sprouts. The food was new to me and I enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend you try it.

Great upscale option in the area. Food is great with an incredible taste, good choice of cocktails and the size of the menu gives you a lot of good options; but none come cheap. Service is excellent and quick.

Great menu mixing Vietnamese classics with some fusion inspired inventions like ricotta and pear salad or rice cakes with hummus and jalapeno. Small but decent wine list. A good amount of vegetarian and vegan options. The service was prompt and attentive. It's definitely an upscale place (white tablecloths and uniformed waiters) and the prices reflect it, but it was worth it. Reservations required: we came here on a Monday night and the place was packed at 6:30pm!

Appetizer sampler was good. Other dishes were fine, but the flavor profile was a little weird. A little too much "fusion" for my taste.Cocktails were not great. Just adding an Asian fruit to the flavor profile of a classic cocktail makes them seem more like an afterthought than a real addition to a beverage menu.

Fusion Asian, and oh so good. Came here for a group holiday meal, which was a set menu given our party size. The dishes were so good. Everything was devoured by our group. We had a blast. Will definitely return

Good food but one of the most expensive in Palo Alto. Starters $12-20, Main dishes $25-34, wine by glass $12-25. The cuisine is quite original. Lot of seafood options and few meat, vegetarian ones. Recommend cod as main dish and Zinfandel wine by a glass

I've been here a few times and it's definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Palo Alto. From romantic dates to corporate dinners, Tamarine's a great place with phenomenal food and ambiance. Definitely try the shaking beef and claypot cod as entrees. The brussel sprouts are unreal.

Food was yummy and unique. The coconut rice was delicious. We also started with the Tamarine Taste (the 3 different rolls) and for entrees we ordered the Clay Pot Cod, Tamarine Prawns, and Shaking Beef. Some of the portions were a bit small but besides that the food was delicious.
